Hiromichi Kimura

After working in the Pharmaceutical Division of Kyowa Hakko Kogyo and as a Vice President in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at JP Morgan, Hiromichi Kimura served as President and Representative Director of Amersham Pharmacia Biotech (now GE Healthcare Japan), President and Representative Director of Monsanto Japan (now Pfizer Japan), and President and Representative Director of HuBit Genomix. In 2000, he founded Life Science Management (now FTI Innovations) and became President, Representative Director, and Partner. In 2004, he founded Fast Track Initiative and became Representative Director and Managing Partner.

He currently also serves as a Project Professor in the Lifestyle Design Research Unit at the University of Tokyo Institute for Future Initiatives (IFI). He has held a professorship in the Pharmaco-Business Innovation unit at the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, serving as a Project Professor from 2002 and as a Visiting Professor from April 2016. He is a planning committee member and lecturer for the University of Tokyo Executive Management Program (EMP). He has chaired the Medical Industry Innovation Organization since 2011. He was the project director of the Innovation Center of NanoMedicine at the Kawasaki Institute of Industrial Promotion (2013–2022). He is a Specially Appointed Fellow at the Center for Research and Development Strategy of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). He led the University of Tokyo Medical Innovation Initiative (2013–2017) and served on the Special Committee on General Policy of the Council for Science and Technology at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (2014–2017). He is a director of Stanford Alumni Association Japan.

Hiromichi graduated from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Tokyo and completed the doctoral program at its Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, earning a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences. He also completed his studies at Stanford Graduate School of Business and holds an MBA.
