Kensuke began his career as a Research Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) before joining Asahi Kasei Pharma Corporation (now Asahi Kasei Therapeutics Corporation). After working in drug discovery research and developing drug discovery technology platforms, he joined the Open Innovation division, where he worked on research collaborations, technology sourcing, and commercialization with academic institutions in Japan and abroad. In 2019, he became a founding member of the company’s CVC function, investing in biotech companies across the U.S., Europe, and Japan. During his four years in Boston, he was responsible for sourcing, duediligence, investment execution, and portfolio company support. Kensuke joined Fast Track Initiative in October 2026, where he focuses on biotech investing and company creation.
Kensuke holds a Ph D in Agricultural Science from the University of Tsukuba and an MBA from the Manning School of Business at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. He is also a registered Japanese Patent Attorney.
