Hiroko Kimura joined the consulting firm SIGMAXYZ, where she worked in the strategy group on management consulting and M&A advisory services. She addressed management issues for companies in a wide range of industries, including life sciences, healthcare, and information and communications. Her work included developing medium-term business plans, formulating new business strategies, and supporting alliances and acquisitions to enter new business areas and expand overseas. She joined Fast Track Initiative in August 2013 and also served as a Project Assistant Professor at the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences until March 2017.

Hiroko graduated from the Department of Biochemistry in the Faculty of Science at the University of Tokyo, completed a master’s program at its Graduate School of Science, and completed a doctoral program at its Graduate School of Medicine, earning a PhD in Medicine.

Her work as a supervising translator includes the Japanese book “A Practical Guide to Academic Drug Discovery: Translational Research through Stanford University’s SPARK” (University of Tokyo Press).
