With a background in management of technology and mechanical engineering, Shogo Kato joined Fast Track Initiative in April 2018. His strengths lie in investing in and supporting HealthTech and MedTech companies. He also focuses on launching university startups and corporate spinouts.

His past roles include serving as a visiting researcher at the Innovation Center of NanoMedicine (iCONM), Kawasaki Institute of Industrial Promotion, beginning in June 2016. He has also served as a researcher at the Medical Industry Innovation Organization since April 2018.

Shogo graduated at the top of his class from the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the School of Engineering at Tokyo Denki University. He completed the professional degree program in Management of Technology at the School of Environment and Society, Tokyo Institute of Technology, earning a professional master’s degree in Management of Technology. He also completed the doctoral program in Innovation Science at the same school and holds a PhD in Management of Technology.
